"Gourmet Meals in Crappy Little Kitchens" a labour of love....

People like to ask me, "How long did it take you to write the book?" I really, really hate my answer... 6 years.
Truth be told, I had no idea that I was writing a book. Working in kitchens around the city, I had collected quite a stack of wonderful, restaurant tested recipes, and thought to myself, "I wonder if someone would buy this?" Years earlier while living in a tiny brownstone in Brooklyn, New York, a friend had told me, "You make the best gourmet meals in this crappy little kitchen." Catchy.
Another question that fans like to ask is, "How did you get your book published?" I can't give you my actual source (because I'd love it if they paid me to do so), but it rhymes with booble. :) A search for "getting book published" said to get a literary agent. A search for "get a literary agent" and was told how to write a quere. After a search for "literary agencies" I had a list of people to send my quere. I send about 50, heard a lot of no's, and 2 yes's. One was Rosemary, and it's been love ever since. I'll never have another agent.
Rosemary pounded doors and HCI was the one that opened. A bit of time with an editor, and Bob's your uncle, it's "Gourmet Meals in Crappy Little Kitchens!"
